Women’s Well Care

Annual physical exams are important to your overall health and well-being.  These yearly exams are essential for checking blood work, weight, medications and mental health.

The main components of an annual exam are

  • Medical History. Your provider will ask about lifestyle and habits like eating, sleeping, stress and exercise.  This is also the time for you to mention health concerns you currently have.
  • Vital Sign Measurements.  Blood pressure, temperature, height and weight will be checked.
  • Physical Exam.  Listening to heart, lungs and stomach, plus checking eyes, ears, nose and thyroid.
  • Screening Tests. Mental health is of utmost concern. Screening questions will be asked about anxiety and depression.
  • Laboratory work.  An order for blood work will be given to you (if needed). You will then go to a hospital or labcorp for the blood draw at your convenience.  Follow up for blood work results can be done in the office or an e-visit.
